Sangiovese by Fattoria Zerbina of Romagna, Superiore. Fresh and lively cherry fruit flavours dominate this medium weight dry red, pleasingly drying tannins and a long savoury finish with a hint of amarognolo. The Fattoria Zerbina wineworks are located at Faenza in south eastern Emilia Romagna, near the base of the Apennine Mountains which separate Emilia Romagna from Tuscany. Fattoria Zerbina's vines are planted to calcareous, clay and limestone soils with south east and south west exposure, on the Vigna Capanno, Malvone, Montignano Pazzo and Sopra Vicchio estate vineyards. Serve with game meats and dark poultry, fungi porcini or pungent, hard cheeses.
